A delegation from Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand, headed by Prof. Weerapong Pairsuwan, President of the University, visited the Institute of High Energy Physics on May 16th.
Prof. Chen Gang, IHEP deputy director, as well as other IHEP representatives, welcomed the guests and introduced the status of high energy research at IHEP. Prof. Cao Jun, IHEP assistant director, outlined progress on the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) and its international collaboration.
Prof. Pairsuwan expressed his appreciation of the scientific achievements at IHEP, and stated the full commitment of SUT to the JUNO project as well as his hope that the research capacity of faculty and students will be enhanced by joining the collaboration.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the photomultiplier tube laboratory, the BEPCII accelerator, the BESIII Experiment, and the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
